Chernor Bah, Minister of Information and Civic Education (Sierra Leone)
Chernor Bah is the Minister of Information and Civic Education in the government of Sierra Leone - serving as primary government spokesperson and playing the pivotal role of leading civic engagement and discourse in his country.
He is a feminist leader, activist, and advocate who prior to his recent appointment as Minister, had dedicated his life to advancing the rights of girls and young people in Sierra Leone and across the world.
He co-founded and was Co- CEO of Purposeful, the Africa-rooted global feminist hub for girls' activism- championing the equitable distribution of unrestricted funds to support girls and feminist activists in more than 150 countries.
He has also been an advocate for reform and decolonization of the global development industry. Internationally recognized for his tireless activism and expertise in the fields of girls' rights, global education, and youth empowerment, Chernor Bah has been appointed multiple times by the United Nations Secretary-General to high level panels on global education, girls rights and on youth peace and security. He consistently lends his voice and counsel to high-level platforms where his insights shape policies and initiatives.
