In preparation for the #ShiftThePower Global Summit, Comunalia has been reflecting on trust, community philanthropy, and the role of community foundations in local development. During this year, we published the research Communities trust towards civil society organizations where we reflected on the elements that inhibit and strengthen people's trust towards community foundations. It is a deep and difficult discussion that challenges us to think: Who does community philanthropy? What is the role of community foundations in sustaining it? And, how do we go beyond transparency and accountability to strengthen trust?
